How might we raise awareness through play?

School of Blocks
Dumbo, NYC

"School of Blocks" is a collaborative, multi-purpose, and all-age inclusive playground with educational building blocks shaped and named after the NYC social housing projects. These functional blocks can be used as outdoor “legos”, seating, stage, and tables. In addition to promoting play and social interaction, they share accessible information about the housing projects in the city, to raise consciousness in the often forgotten and overlooked communities. The wall surrounding the playground is used as a canvas for artwork created with Artolution in collaboration with people living in social housing.
