Pinar Guvenc recently participated as a speaker at a significant panel discussion hosted by the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. Titled "Opportunities and Challenges: New Perspectives from Design Educators on Generative AI," the panel saw Pinar join fellow faculty members from SVA's undergraduate and graduate design programs to discuss the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the world of design and its impact on both professional design practice and design education.
The panelists shared diverse experiences and perspectives on the integration of GenAI tools into creative processes and exchanged valuable insights into how artificial intelligence could shape the future of design. The conversation encompassed both the potential opportunities presented by these technologies and the challenges that come with their increasing adoption.
The insightful event, moderated by MFA Design Chair Randy Hunt, facilitated a broad exchange of viewpoints from design educators and professionals on the topic of generative AI. Our studio actively follows the evolution of innovative technologies like generative artificial intelligence and is committed to understanding and integrating relevant advancements into our work. Participation in discussions like this enriches our understanding and perspective in this rapidly evolving field.
