INCLUSIVE DESIGN

Progressing Body Diversity in Fashion Industry

Universal Materiality Exhibition
New York, USA

In the beginning of 2019, the Universal Materiality Exhibition opened its doors at Parsons School of Design, representing the collaboration with Parsons, Open Style Lab and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the exploration made with textiles, design processes, and fashion for aging and disability, with the goal to encourage people to consider the ways disability is interpreted in bodies, abilities, and through the act of dressing. SOUR teamed up with Open Style Lab, to create an inclusive exhibition experience through body forms representing different postures; accessible signage, heights and navigation; and diverse means of communication to increase perceptibility.
